GUEST INFORMATION

Guests may utilize the golf course, clubhouse, tennis courts and swimming pool when accompanied by a member. It is recommended that members and guests familiarize themselves with the various policies that relate to the specific facility to be used. In particular, please review the dress code information below to insure compliance with the Club’s policies on this topic.

 

DRESS CODE POLICY FOR GUESTS WHEN USING ALMADEN GOLF &  COUNTRY CLUB FACILITIES:

Members, their spouses, children and guests, must adhere to the following approved dress code. Each member is responsible for informing his or her family members and guest(s) of the dress code. No one will be allowed use of the country club facilities unless properly attired. Rules will be enforced by the Almaden Golf and Country Club management team and the Board of Directors. No one will be allowed use of the club facilities without approved and proper attire, including footwear as summarized below

Acceptable country club casual attire is appropriate for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Gentlemen, ladies and children of walking age shall dress in a fashion compatible with the appropriate location. Clean un-faded denim attire is permitted in the clubhouse. Member dining room and member bar includes the patios directly outside each room.
Acceptable attire for men includes shirts with sleeves and collars, mock-turtlenecks and slacks, golf shorts including Bermuda (mid-thigh). Shirts must be tucked in at all times with the exception of button-down tropical dress shirts that are meant to be worn outside of trousers.

Proper shoes must be worn in the clubhouse which include soft-spiked golf shoes, athletic shoes, dress shoes or sandals. Shower shoes are allowed only in the locker rooms.

Acceptable attire for women includes blouses with slacks, skirts, dresses, golf clothing and golf shorts (mid-thigh). Acceptable footwear includes street shoes, sandals and soft-spiked golf shoes.

Hats must be worn as designed and persons wearing caps shall keep the bill forward. All members and guests shall remove their caps, visors or other sports headgear when in the member dining room, member bar, board room, ballroom, or wine room. Ladies’ fashion hats are acceptable throughout the clubhouse.

Those utilizing the mens’ and ladies’ lounges must be dressed to clubhouse standards.
Acceptable tennis clothing as defined below is permitted in the clubhouse.

Fitness and workout clothing as defined below is acceptable when walking between the fitness room and locker rooms, but not in the clubhouse.

Unacceptable attire includes the following: cut-offs, gym, jogging or short-shorts, cargo shorts, bathing suits, body suits, tank and halter tops, T-shirts or those with designs or sayings, cropped tops, tube tops, bra type tops. Apparel that is frayed, cut or stained is prohibited.

Acceptable attire for men includes shirts with sleeves and collars, golf styled turtleneck or mock-turtlenecks, golf slacks, knickers, golf shorts including Bermuda (mid-thigh length). Shirts must be tucked in at all times.

Acceptable attire for women includes collared or crew shirt, with or without sleeves, golf styled turtleneck or mock turtleneck and slacks, skirts, skorts, culottes and golf shorts (all mid-thigh length).

Proper shoes must be worn while on the golf course which include soft-spiked golf shoes or athletic shoes. Metal spiked golf shoes or casual shoes are not permitted on the golf course or practice areas.

Hats must be worn as designed and persons wearing caps shall keep the bill forward. Men’s and Ladies’ fashion hats are acceptable throughout the golf course. Acceptable golf course attire is permitted in the clubhouse.

All swimmers must wear bona fide swimming attire. Cut-offs, dungarees and Bermuda or cargo shorts are not considered appropriate swimwear.

Swimmers in bathing suits will be allowed only in the vicinity of the pool, and not in the clubhouse, walkways, golf course, tennis courts, turn cafe, or golf shop. A shirt, warm-up suit or bathing suit ‘cover-up’ must be worn when coming or going between the swimming pool and locker rooms of the country club or the parking lot.

Toddlers wearing swim or any other form of diapers are only permitted in the baby pool.

Golf, tennis, workout attire as well as denim are permitted at the swimming facilities.

Proper tennis attire is required on the courts. Colors are permitted. Acceptable tennis attire is permitted in the clubhouse.

Fishnet tops, cut-offs, blue jeans or denim of any type, jams or cargo shorts and swim suits are not permitted at any time.

Regulation tennis shoes or appropriate athletic shoes are required. Shoes with black or other colored soles that could mark the tennis courts are prohibited.

Guests do not have fitness center privileges.

Via 85 North or South:

  • Take 85 North or South, exiting at Almaden Expressway.

  • Make a left onto Almaden Expressway when driving North and a right when driving South.

  • Drive approximately 4 miles on Almaden Expressway, crossing over Camden Avenue.

  • The street directly after Camden is Crown Blvd., make a right onto Crown.

  • Crown Blvd. ends at the Club.

Via 280 South:

  • Exit 280 South to 85 South.

  • Follow steps 2-5 above for via 85.

Via 101:

  • Take 101 South or North to 280 North.

  • Exit 280 North to 87 South.

  • Exit 87 South to 85 North, remain in the on-ramp merge lane and exit immediately onto the Almaden Expressway off ramp.

  • Follow directions 2-5 above.

Via 680 South to 280 North:

  • 680 South turns into 280 North

Follow steps 2-4 above for via 101.
